How to Use WOLFchat

Chat works by typing in the message text box at the bottom of the chat window and hitting "Enter" on your keyboard or clicking the "Send" button.

You may change the color of your text with the color picker drop-down menu next to the message text box.

You may add graphic smilies to your messages by either entering the correct text (for example, :) (colon end parenthesis) creates a regular smiley) or clicking on the smiley icon next to the "Send" button. A pop-up window with a list of smilies will appear. Click on the smiley you want to use and it will be entered into the text box (you will need to manually close the smiley pop-up window or simply click back over to the chat window). Add some message text or hit "Enter" (or click "Send") to send your graphic smiley.

You may change the color of your name by clicking the "Edit your profile" link on the right side of the chat window. A pop-up box will appear asking you to login. Enter your chat Username and Password, click the "Login" button, and then your profile will appear. At the very bottom is a field called "Name/Text color" with a drop-down menu next to it. Select the color you'd like your name to be and click the "Change" button, then "Close". Refresh the chat window and choose "Retry" to update your colors. If you don't, the next time you send a message, your Username will appear using the new color, but your text will most likely remain whatever it was previously set to.

Your Web browser window will refresh approximately every 5-10 seconds with any new messages that have been sent.

Clicking on the little "H" after a username will highlight all of that user's messages with a dark gray background. (This can be useful if there's a lot of chatter and you only want to pay attention to a particular person's messages.)

To exit the chat, you can either click on the Exit/Door icon in the upper right corner of the chat window (preferred method of exiting chat), which will take you back to the chat Login page, or you can click on the "Return to W.O.L.F. Sector Home" link in the upper left corner, which will take you back to the Home page of W.O.L.F. Sector.
