Before you go any further, ask yourself these two questions:

If you answered yes to either of these questions, please don't e-mail me.

Let me put it very simply. I don't deal well with pressure. I also don't deal well with being told what to do.

I received an e-mail (December 4, 2004, right after I posted an update to Lights of Life) that had "just a quick note" as the Subject Header, and then had just the titles of A Bondage Primer and Xena: Warrior Slave with the dates they were last updated in a huge red font. As if I have no idea when those stories were last updated.

That was my thanks for posting an update.

Another e-mail didn't even have anything in the message section. It just had "Please please please!!! I need more "180 days" Please Please Please!!!!!! PS You're a fantastic writer!!!!! PPS Please Please Please!!!!" in the Subject Header (I actually had to select Properties in Outlook Express in order to read the whole thing).

Now, the "You're a fantastic writer" part is sort of nice (though it comes across more as manipulation through praise, which makes the praise suspect), but all I see is someone doing the exact opposite of what I've requested time and time again on this website, which is to not ask me to update particular stories (or beg, in this case).

Suffice to say, those kinds of e-mails don't make me want to work on those stories. I'm fairly sure that wasn't what those people wanted or intended, but I seriously doubt I'm going to work on either of those stories for quite some time.

I wish I wasn't so sensitive to outside influences, but I am. I try not to let other people's actions get in the way of the things I want to do because that basically means I've given my power away; I'm letting someone else dictate my actions, and I don't like doing that. But sometimes, I still have that thirteen-year-old mentality of doing the exact opposite of what other people tell me to do, even if it hurts me. And not working on a story because someone annoyed me or pissed me off hurts me.

So, in order to keep you guys from inadvertently messing with my muse, I'm asking that you please not e-mail me, if either of those questions/requests/orders are going to be part of your message. Besides, I've already answered those questions on the Help/FAQ page. (Update: I received an e-mail (September 17, 2008) from a reader who completely disregarded this, in my opinion, politely put request. Since I clearly haven't been harsh enough, I'm posting the reader's e-mail, along with my response to it. If you actually agree with the reader, then please accept my response to them as my response to you and don't e-mail me.)

Finally, anyone who sends me an e-mail with either of those questions/requests/orders will be redirected to this page.

On the other hand, if you really want to get me to work on a particular story, you might want to try telling me specifically what you like so much about it and what you think could be improved.

I received an e-mail regarding The Vampire Hunter series that did just that, and I became very hyped about adding some new scenes to the first book, as well as the third book (I actually had a hard time not dropping this at the time and going to work on it, but I wanted to finish writing this first).

It's e-mails like that, that aren't just empty praise, that try to help me improve my writing (which is the reason I put my stories online in the first place), that make me want to write.

Now, if you have a question about archiving my stories on another site, please read my Archiving Policy on the Help/FAQ page before e-mailing me.

You should also read my Feedback Policy, so that you're not too disappointed if I don't respond to your e-mail.

And now, finally, here is my e-mail address:

mail4kkw-KWLF at yahoo dot com

You'll need to change 'at' to '@' and 'dot' to '.' and remove all spaces (I'm just tired of having my sites trolled by spammers for my e-mail address).
