Synopsis: Case Jacobson is used to living her life on the fringes of society. As the personal assassin of mafia boss Antonio Carlotti, there is no place she calls home, no one she calls friend, and only one thing she fears: the past.

Then Case meets Rebecca Raines, aka "Rain," when Antonio orders Case to train the woman as an assassin. Their attraction is immediate, and the two women quickly become lovers, despite serious repercussions should Rain's real identity be discovered.

For Rain isn't what she appears to be. She's an undercover agent for the FBI, and her assignment is to gather as much evidence as she can against Carlotti and his criminal organization, no matter what it takes.

But as Case begins to feel emotions she's spent a lifetime trying to push away, and Rain learns that right and wrong aren't as easy to define as she'd thought, a new order from Carlotti threatens to tear the women apart.

Will Case and Rain find a way to stay together? Or are they doomed to become enemies as their dreams seem to predict?

Author's Notes: As I mention in the Warnings area above, this story contains scenes of child abuse and rape. If you are a survivor of child abuse or rape, this story might be a bit difficult to take in some places. I wrote the abuse scenes, and the scenes of healing from that abuse, from my own personal experiences, so they come across as rather graphic and real. If you feel at all nervous about reading about a child being raped by her father, skip this story. And for you pedophiles out there, the scenes are not pornographic, so don't even bother.
