Nice View

It's just another busy day at work
When I walk into my office
And notice her outside my windows
On the third floor balcony
Bent over weeding the planter
Removing everything
That's not her sunflowers
One of which is about 2 1/2 feet tall now
They grew from excess seeds
The birds scattered out of the feeder
I watch for a few minutes
Enjoying the view of her backside
Then I get an idea
I grab a small notepad and a red Sharpie
And write the words
"NICE VIEW" along with a smiley face
Then I hold the pad up through the blinds
And knock on the window
But she doesn’t hear it
So, I knock again and this time
She turns around and reads the note
She laughs and then asks
"Would you like to see the moon?"
To which I respond, "Sure!"
She just laughs, rolls her eyes
And shakes her head
And I smile back at her
Then she returns to the task
Of weeding her little garden
And I decide to leave her in peace
And get back to work

Author's Notes

She is a straight woman I work with. Well, actually she is more than that to me, she is a good friend. Her office is next door to mine. So, we share a similar view out our floor to ceiling windows. I've had an attraction to her for as long as I've worked here, and she knows it. I flirt with her from time to time. It's really no big deal. I think she enjoys the attention, and I enjoy the occasional view.

Here's a couple shots of her prized sunflowers.
