Sorry it's taken me so long to post a new update. But since my last posting, life has been a little bit crazy around here. Hopefully, now that spring has finally arrived, things will settle down for a while.

Now on to the update. Back in the early part of December, I was working on a new poem for Kodi. For reference, I decided to read though the MS Word file of our early emails. I came across an email and thought, "Damn, that sounds like a poem," and then I found a couple more. I realized I didn't have any poems posted for the time period after Kodi's visit but before we moved in together, which these are from. So, I've decided to add them to the 2000 poem index page to fill in the gap of what was happening for us back then. These new poems are Foreplay, Two Weeks, and Soon, Baby, Soon.

I have also added two new poems to the 2004 index. The first one is for Kodi and is entitled Your Voice, while the second is about my grandparents' cottage and is called Gone.

Now, for the really hard part. In January, I had to have my cat put to sleep. I have written three new poems dealing with the events before and after her death. These poems were very difficult for me to write; very difficult, but very necessary. Likewise, they may be very difficult poems to read as well. Since two of these poems deviate greatly from my normal subject matter, I have placed warnings on the index pages and on the individual poem pages as well. I am in no way suggesting that you should not read these poems. However, I do not want anyone to be caught off guard and not be forewarned about the graphic content of these poems.

The first one is For Megan. The poem explains how I came to the decision of euthanasia. The next one is The Aftermath. It's about the consequences of that decision. The last poem is Memories of You. It's for Megan and describes the good memories I have of her.

I have also added a poem that I had totally forgotten about when Kodi and I first created my website. It's one I wrote a few weeks after a stray kitten I had adopted was killed back in 1998. His name was Simon. The poem tells all the things I loved about him. I also describe his murder near the end of the poem. The description isn't gory, but it's still emotionally intense. It's called In Loving Memory and has been added to the 1998 index page.

I have also added a couple of photographs. One for Simon's poem, In Loving Memory, and one for Megan's, Memories of You. I have finally added a photo of the present I gave Kodi last year for Valentine's Day, the framed poem A Rose And A Key.

On a much happier note, I have added another three poems to the 2005 poem index. The first one is a birthday present for Kodi, and it's called Desires Of The Flesh. As the title suggests, it's very erotic. The next one is In Silence and is basically about my fear of losing Kodi. And the last poem is The Care Package. It was written for one of Kodi's sisters.

I'd like to apologize for the depressing subject matter this time. At first, I seriously debated whether or not to even post the poems about Megan, uncertain at how they would be received by my reading public. But over the years, I have come to realize this site means more to me than I ever thought possible. It is my autobiography, my life story. So, in the end, I decided to post the poems because it isn't about me trying to please people with what I write. It's about simply sharing my life, which means sharing it all, everything, the good, the bad, the joy, and the pain, rather than being dictated by it. Megan was a part of my life, and the poems I wrote for her deserve to be here as much as any of them do.

And lastly, thanks for stopping by.
