Soon, baby, soon

I just wanted to tell you that I love you
And that I can hardly wait to see
Your smiling face tomorrow night
Or hold you in my arms
Or feel your lips pressed to mine
Or your tongue touching mine
Or feel my hands slide down your back
And squeeze the cheeks of your ass
Or feel you take my breath away
From just a kiss
Or see your apartment
Or to finally see where you spent
So many hours on the phone with me
Or see you running around
Naked in your apartment
Or reach over and touch your skin
I love the feel of your skin

Soon, baby, soon
I'll be there, loving you

Well, a last few games of Solitaire
And I am outta here
Tomorrow morning, I'll be
Heading northward
Northward to my darling
To my baby
To my girlfriend
To my lover girl
To my sweetheart
To my honey buns
To my Kodi Kai

Author's Notes

This was written the day before I left for Rochester, NY. And this wasn't the last time I spoke to her that day either. We talked on the phone that night, too. I was lucky if I even got three hours of sleep. But fortunately, I didn't have to do that much driving the next day; my friend did most of it. Then finally, around ten o'clock on Saturday night, I called Kodi and told her we were there. She couldn't believe it. She didn't expect us for another few hours or so. But it didn't take too long for her to believe me, and in another few minutes, she ran down the stairs of her building and met us on the street. Finally, I had her in my arms, where I hope she'll always stay.
