Restless
I felt the pleasure
Of being near you again
I felt the engraved letters
On the ring around my finger
I felt the word you had put there
"RESTLESS"
I felt the joy as I hung
My heart around your neck
I felt your lips on mine
Lost in a passionate kiss
I felt your tongue against mine
Probing and searching with desire
I felt your eyes on me
As I drove
I felt the smile that came
Upon your face as you watched me
I felt the touch of your hand
As we said goodbye
I felt the pain in my heart
At the fear of losing you

Lust Woman and I had gotten together the week after Valentine's Day to exchange gifts. Back then, I wore a 2mm white gold band on the pinky finger of my right hand. Lust Woman wanted to have something engraved on the ring. And I had already bought a sterling silver floating heart charm with a chain for her. So we took the afternoon off from our jobs and went to the mall.
We went into a couple of different jewelry stores before we found one that would do same-day engraving. I can still remember standing there at the counter, explaining to the salesman what we wanted. The energy between us was palpable, and the salesman smiled as he took the ring and wrote down the word to be engraved. Then he said, "There must be a good story behind it." We just held hands and looked at each other and smiled saying that there was. But neither of us offered to tell him what it was. We had some time to kill while we waited on the ring to be engraved. So we grabbed a bite to eat and then went into the restroom to make out for a bit.
We both loved Shelby Lynn's 1995 CD called "Restless". In fact, I think Restless was her favorite song from the album. But mine was Just for the touch of your hand. I'll probably always think of her whenever I hear that song.
