I dreamed
this crazy dream
but among the chaos
was a moment of calm
I was standing
on a beach
looking out
at the water
you came up to me
from behind
put your arms
around me
and told me
you loved me more
than you could say
I leaned back
into you and said
through choking tears
I love you more
than you'll ever know

Author's Notes

The dream was a strange one. My marriage had ended in divorce. To get away from the failare and the pain I got in my sports car and drove north. I cried my eyes out the whole way. I ended up in Canada on the island where my grandparents have a cottege. I stood at the edge of the water, arms folded across my chest. Stealing myself against the winter wind and the pain, that's when my Grandmother walked up behind me and put her arms around me. As she did the wind stopped blowing and I was no longer cold.

Ironic, huh? Maybe the dream was trying to warning of what was to come.
